The manager of the seventh refinery at South Pars Gas Complex announced the start of the 2025 major maintenance operations, aimed at maintaining gas production stability and improving product quality, beginning in late May.

Mehrdad Abdi, highlighting the use of domestic capabilities in the overhaul operations, stated: “So far, more than 95% of the refinery’s needs have been met by domestic companies, and this year’s overhaul—utilizing 100% locally-made parts and equipment—marks a significant step toward realizing the slogan ‘Investment for Production.'”

He added: “The 2025 overhaul operations, targeting 1,031 maintenance actions across various refinery units, began in late May with the shutdown of South Pars Phase 17 and will continue until the end of the month.”

Detailing the technical measures during this period, the manager explained: “This maintenance includes 164 inspections, 81 electrical actions, 222 instrumentation tasks, 12 modification projects, and a range of repair activities on both fixed and rotating equipment, all being carried out by refinery specialists.”

Abdi identified the following as among the most important actions in this technical event: “Inspection and flooring of amine tanks in the gas units, replacement of the 48-inch inlet line to the incinerator furnace in unit 108, inspection of regeneration furnaces in the dehydration unit, and inspection of the DSO separator tank in the phase 18 treatment unit.”

He further noted that the implementation of modification projects such as “inspection of the regeneration tower and packings, replacement of flare tip pilots, replacement of the LP flare tip in phase 18, elimination of steam leaks to prevent energy loss, repair of brine pumps in unit 125, and inspection of 31 heat exchangers” are part of the extensive 2025 overhaul program.
